I was born and raised in Kenya. When I first came to America, Jesus was the last thing on my mind. Everything was new. I focused on nice things, friends and amusement. I quickly forgot God. At 14 I came to Kids Rock. At first I was there for fun and friendships, but over time I came to know God personally. Unfortunately, after awhile I stopped coming because I did not want to be accountable or give up my old life. I spent my time on entertainment and avoiding responsibilities like studies or work. My grades dropped until and I began to realize that I was wasting the life God gave me. The leaders at Kids Rock never stopped reaching out to me. I knew I needed Christ, Bible-study, and accountability. I came back to Kids Rock. Now I make better choices and My grades are mostly A's. I'm 17 with a job at McDonalds, my own car and an iPhone. I am determined go to medical school and become a Doctor.

I grew up in a troubled family like many children in our city. I never met my father and my mother died from a drug over dose when I was 6. Since then, I have been living with my grandma and attending Kids Rock House. At Kids Rock I discovered a love for reading the Bible. I love Kids Rock Club, Friday Night Fellowship and Sunday Celebration with all the friends, fun, prayer and Bible lessons. I am 11 years old now. Thanks to mentoring from Carla and Sarah and Tuesday Night Tutoring my grades at school have gone up from C's, D's and F's to six A's and two B's this year. Thanks Kids Rock. You have given me a safe place to grow and belong.
