mentoring

From the beginning the founders of Kids Rock House knew that today's urban children need more than church services and youth group activities. Mentoring has been a key ingredient in the several successful testimonies that Kids Rock has witnessed to date and to the many more that are now growing steadily on that pathway. All Kids Rock team members are active, qualified and equipped Mentors.

Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. Therefore, team members must be volunteers at Kids Rock House activities for an extended season and show excellence in their Christian commitment and character. Volunteers that join the team as mentors have been willing to have their lives scrutinized over time for godly character, healthy marriages, spiritual, emotional and relational maturity.

The Kids Rock team uses sports, music, Bible study or any other point of interest to develop relationships that impart character, values and life-skills. Most team members live in the neighborhoods near the Kids Rock Activities Center and practice hospitality by extending invites to dinners, movie nights, watching sports and more. For Kids Rock urban youth, this is frequently the first time they have witnessed a healthy marriage and family. Mentoring provides an essential step.
